Revelation 15, 19:1-10: Marriage Supper of the Lamb

In chapter 15 of Revelation, we read about a heavenly experience that reflects the perfect fulfillment of the “one new man” in Ephesians 2:15, a blending of the Jewish and Gentile believers in the Messiah as we sing together the song of Moses as well as the song of the Lamb, or Messiah. The redeemed of God will be praising God and Yeshua together:

“And they sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, ‘Great and amazing are your deeds, O Lord God the Almighty! Just and true are your ways, O King of the nations!’” (Rev. 15:3).

John describes this awesome scene beside the beautiful sea of glass:

“…Then I heard what seemed to be the voice of a great multitude, like the roar of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, crying out, Hallelujah! For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns. Let us rejoice and exult and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready; it was granted her to clothe herself with fine linen, bright and pure - for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints” (Rev. 19:5-8).

All the resurrected Jews and Christians will be eternally wedded to our Messiah and will be celebrating together the “Marriage Supper of the Lamb.” This will be the most glorious and victorious moment ever for all of God’s people! But I believe that this will be an even more joyous time for the Lamb and the Father! How they have planned and longed for this day! Our romantic bridegroom, our Messiah and Lamb, will rejoice over His bride with passionate love, just as He has always loved His people of long ago.

“I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you. Again I will build you, and you shall be built, O virgin Israel! Again you shall adorn yourself with tambourines and shall go forth in the dance of the merrymakers” (Jer. 31:4).

“…as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you” (Isa. 62:5).

“The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing(Zeph. 3:17).

I understand that Ezekiel 37 also describes the event of the resurrection of God’s people through the Messiah, though it could also be interpreted figuratively in relation to their revival as a nation after the horrors of the Holocaust, or even their spiritual rebirth when they accept Yeshua. Yet this is exactly what the resurrection will look like, remaining with Him in heaven during the brief interim of the Caliphate’s rule on earth, followed by the return of God’s people to their ancient land for the Messianic Age. Ezekiel 37 says:

“Behold, I will open your graves and raise you from your graves, O my people. And I will bring you into the land of IsraelMy servant David [Yeshua] shall be king over them, and they shall all have one shepherd. They shall walk in my rules and be careful to obey my statutes…My dwelling place shall be with them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people(Ezek. 37:12, 24, 27).

As incredible a scene as this might seem to us right now, the angel confirmed this truth for our benefit: “These are the true words of God” (Rev. 19:9). It will truly happen, and we will be rejoicing and celebrating like never before with our God and Messiah!
